Micro-providing in Frome

Our members are self employed people that have a passion for looking after other people. They operate under a scheme founded and set up by Somerset Council, with an infrastructure composed of networks and partnerships from many aspects of the care services we all rely on. We put people before tasks, and get the tasks done – fostering a sense of value and confidence in the people we work with.

Finding Us

At the moment, there are two main ways to find a micro-provider.

The Community Council for Somerset provide an amazing service in the Village Agents – who can match your needs with the carers that can provide the best care.

For a more direct approach, there’s a Brokerage Tool provided by the Somerset Enterprise Development Team

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my Direct Payments for micro-providers?

Yes. Our micro-providers are a part of the somerset scheme. Many of our micro-providers clients are helped by Somerset’s Direct Payments system, and many others are self funding, or funded by family.

Can micro-providers provide personal care?

Yes. Micro-providers provide many types of care, from providing company and a cup of tea, helping with household chores and dog walking to personal care, respite for voluntary carers and even end-of-life care. They’re here to make life better.

Are micro-providers regulated?

No. Micro-providers are not regulated by Somerset Council or the CQC. They are not members of an agency, and they are not employees. These are self employed people, and they will work with you to find out exactly what you want and need from their services

Do Micro-providers work together?

Yes – micro-providers can work together to cover your needs, but you’ll have a contract with each of them individually. You are in charge of the care provided, so you can tailor it as you please, and choose the people that best suit your needs. What could be better?
